San Diego Zoo!!!

Silly bushes pretending to be elephants.

The girls and koala.

Bears

Hungry, Hungry, Hippos

Caroline climbing in the jungle around the hippo exhibit.

The exhibit is so cool. You can see the hippos under water. The dark shape in the background behind Anna is two adult hipppos hugging.

Family Pictures

Our family, including our new brother elephant.

The fam with a giraffe.

Zoo Lunch

Anna looks like a model, complete with a breeze flowing through her hair and slightly pursed lips. And don't forget the finishing touch: a mustard splotch on her cheek.

Liner enjoying her sandwich.

Another model with a bite of sandwich in her cheek.

Children's Zoo

They had a petting zoo with goats and sheep. Anna was really brave and went around giving each of the animals a special pat.

Caroline was a little worried at first, but eventually she pet a couple of animals.

They had such beautiful flowers.

New Pets

Anna got a new dolphin friend "Shark" at Sea World. She wanted him to be able to see the show she was watching.

Caroline's dolphin friend's name is "Sunny".

Sea World!!!!

These penguins look a little familiar.

On the ride that the girls liked, but almost made me sick.

Caroline was the queen of the mountain. Anna was a little afraid to stand up.

Sesame Street 4-D

They had a Sesame Street movie with 3-D glasses. We all looked very cool.

You can see the remnants of Anna's wound that she got running down my Aunt Janet's driveway.

Caroline kept grabbing at the air in the theater, trying to get Cookie Monster's cookie or Grover's rope or whatever.

Carousel

Ice Cream at Mission Beach

Yumm.

Caroline wanted pink ice cream. Big surprise.

Mission Beach

We went to the beach our first evening in San Diego and didn't bother to get swim suits on. Caroline and Nate got pretty cold playing in the waves.

Anna is eyeing the sand castle I made for her.

4 Cousins!!

I was really smart the first week in May and decided to have two of Anna and Caroline's cousins come and play at the same time. I think Harriet and Cecily had a good time, and the girls loved playing with them. We walked to the famous Gunnison Dragon and the girls held hands of their own volition.

Then they all decided to wak on the orange line. Caroline insisted on being the "leader".

The girls with our dragon. It has since been defaced by grafitti. Darn kids.
