Drastic Color Changes

I realize that it's been a really long time since my last post. We've actually had a couple of adventures that aren't documented here. Nate went to California and saw the Blue Devils win DCI finals. That's his old drum corps, so he was pretty excited about that. We also went to Palisades as a family and played at the "beach." It was raining, but the kids still loved it. The water was downright warm. Anna helped me build a sandcastle. She spent the rest of the time protecting it from Caroline. Last week we went camping up Fairview Canyon with Miss Kandis and Grandma Carol. The kids had fun, but we were all really tired when we finally made it home.

Yeah, I colored my hair brown. It is a little darker than I anticipated, but I'm slowly getting used to it.

I also painted our front door red, which looks really good. I'll have to take another picture with the whole house, but this morning when I took the picture the light wasn't very good for it.

Happy Birthday to Anna

Anna got loads of presents. We tried not to spoil her, but we didn't do a very good job.

Anna got this cute bear puzzle from Maggie. She wants to play with it all the time, but she and Caroline fight over it, so I have to save it for special occasions.

Her favorite was a Dora DVD from Grandma. Oh, Grandma knows her soooo well.

Benny and Me

Two of the greatest jazz pianists in the world. Okay, one of the greatest jazz pianists in the world, but Benny Green is there, too.

Picnic

We had a picnic in the mountains. The girls loved it.

Happy Birthday to Caroline

Caroline told us hundreds of times that she wanted "chocolate cake with frosting and a cherry" for her birthday. It turns out that she doesn't even like cherries. She spit hers out. But she was content.

Shayla and Taya were standing by, just in case Caroline needed help blowing out candles.

Lovin' Lagoon

Caroline loved riding the giraffe.

Anna liked her horse at first...

Then she kind of fell asleep riding it. She opened her eyes again just as Nate was coming to take her picture.

Caroline took Nate on the Ladybug ride. She was happy at first, but it didn't take long before she was pretty scared.

You can't really see the look on her face, but it's pure terror.

Anna was having a hard day--she didn't get a nap, then she rubbed the stamp ink all over her face and into her eyes.

Hike to the Falls

I'm guessing from the look on Nate's face that it was cold...

Paul and Ryan with a pretty view of the big falls.

Kyle and the falls. Caroline says, "He's such a nice boy!"

On the Home Front

I thought Anna looked really cute while she was watching "Sleeping Beauty."

Nate playing with the kids. They love it.

The girls eating their breakfast in the playroom. They'd hate to miss a part of their show just to eat...

Bubble Bath!!!!!

The girls both thought this bubble bath was the best ever.

But then they got hungry and had to have some "Rice Christmas Treats".

And then they had to take a break in their busy schedule to watch Dad try to put something together. (This is my favorite)

Hats, Hats, Hats

One of our neighbors gave Nate this "hair hat" when he came home. Caroline decided it was pretty cool. Not that she needs any more hair.

Anna's pretty cute, too.
